& Stuff
At Most Awesome Book Club (MABC), books are our spark – but the real magic happens in the conversations they ignite. We select titles based on member buzz, votes, and a dash of serendipity (like drawing from a hat when options abound). Whether fiction, non-fiction, or feel-good escapes, our picks are chosen for their ability to inspire chats, laughs, and maybe even a road trip.
Member-Driven: Share your favorites during meetings or via our newsletter surveys. The book with the most enthusiasm wins!
Diverse Sources: We draw from member suggestions, AI curators, and trusted sites. For audio lovers, we love Amazon Audible – check out our affiliate links for seamless listening and to support the club.
No Pressure Reading: Even if you haven't finished, join the fun. Our discussions start with a quick overview from a volunteer leader, then open up to favorites like: "What's your standout sentence?" or "How did this book change your view?"
January Read: "The Midnight Library" by Matt Haig – A heartwarming tale of choices and second chances. Perfect for winter reflections!
February Spotlight: Valentine's Theme – We're diving into romantic reads like "Beach Read" by Emily Henry. Hosted by a fellow member – planning by text - details coming soon.
Past Favorites: "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens (inspired a nature outing!), "Educated" by Tara Westover (sparked deep life talks).
Submit your suggestions and we will get them in the Event Planning Email.
Book Recommendations: Browse lists from Goodreads or our affiliate partners.

Fun Beyond the Pages: Events, Outings, and Gatherings
Book Club isn't confined to couches and chapters – we love turning book-inspired ideas into real-life adventures! From themed dinners to local explorations, our activities keep the energy high and the bonds strong. We mix book talks with socializing, always with a side of treats.
Our Recent Activities:
St. Augustine Nights of Lights was beautiful, albeit wet and cold. This was a great road trip and would be a terrific club event - with better weather.
Many of us did a pub crawl at Port Canaveral on New Year's Eve day.
We've done Pilates together, gone for country line dancing lessons, and take lots of walks together. Some of us a looking at salsa lessons. Several of us have gone to these events in the past and are looking to support the events at Field Manor. More info coming soon.
January Not-Too-Chili Cook-Off (Rescheduling for February - maybe for the Superbowl??): Warm up with hearty chilis, book chats, and prizes. Date: TBD – watch for the next email!
February Valentine's Gathering: Kim O. is suggesting a Galentine's meeting or we can make it a couples meetup where we talk about romantic reads while enjoying sweet treats and perhaps a craft cocktail or two. Watch for invites.
Volunteer/Community Opportunities: Let's join together for good deeds and great company. Let me know if there's an event you want to put in the newsletter.
Home Hosted Fun: Hostesses decide – potluck, restaurant meetups, or pizza parties. We adore everything from charcuterie to crockpot wonders. Check our recipe sources for inspiration!
Local Adventures: Book-inspired trips to nearby spots, restaurants, or events. Recommend your favorites – we'll feature them in newsletters.
Themed Extras: Think holiday themes or family holiday "After-Parties". Always inclusive and charming.
We're always open to your ideas. Let's make memories, one gathering at a time.
Hostess Gifts: Coming soon – our registry for thoughtful tokens from the Book Club Gift Store. Unique, curated items drop-shipped straight to you.
Gift Cards: Treat a friend (or yourself) to event access or store credits at our own store.
Community Building: Request to join our Facebook group or newsletter for updates. We also have a few Text Message Groups. Let me know if you want to be added. For email, be sure to add us to your safe senders!
We are also considering joining an existing book club planning site, but we want to see if we can easily develop our own site for news and information first. That site will be used for planning and RSVPs.
Join us in finding great reads, making new connections, exploring new places, and contributing to a great group with a sense of community. We’re always looking for new friends.
